Commander (Ret.) Henia Berkovich served as a meteorology officer and head of Hydrography in the Israeli Navy, worked as an R&D consultant for Israel Aerospace Industries in the field of software measurement during the development of real-time software, and was Director of the Israel Meteorological Service from 2002 to 2015.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics, a master’s degree in Geophysics and Planetary Sciences, and a PhD in Computer Management and Information Systems from Tel Aviv University.
In 2023, her book “The Voyage of Meteorology and Weather Forecasting: From Art to Science” (a voyage of about 350 years) was published by the Maritime Policy and Strategy Research Center, University of Haifa.
