The MPS internship framework offers B.A. students from a variety of institutions the opportunity to participate in MPS research and projects through practicum courses across different departments and faculties. Interns gain hands-on experience and academic knowledge in political analysis of the maritime domain, focusing on areas such as policy, national security, strategy, innovation, diplomacy, economics, energy, and other issues on the public agenda.
The internship is generally conducted on an individual basis and remotely, allowing interns to work from their preferred location.
The program is open to second-year students and above. Admission is contingent upon a personal interview conducted at the beginning of the academic year. Students who complete 100 internship hours are eligible to receive academic credit points, subject to the requirements of their departmental practicum courses.
Interns are assigned to team-based research projects and are expected to conduct joint research under the guidance and supervision of the MPS team throughout the academic year.
As the final stage of the internship, teams that successfully complete their research projects within the required timeframe will receive professional guidance in refining their findings into an academic article.
